KAOSPILOT
The Art & Craft of Designing and Facilitating Learning Spaces

Kaospilot, Emzingo, and Bentley University's Badavas Center for innovation in teaching and learning  as well as Bentley Learning & Teaching Council invite you to join us on Bentley's campus to kick off the new year with this 3-day Masterclass for educators, instructional designers, program directors, curriculum designers, facilitators, and anyone who wants to create innovative, experiential, learner-centered programs, courses, and experiences.

Boston education and innovation sectors are buzzing with 114 colleges and universities in the Commonwealth (not mention the rest of our amazing New England neighbors), over 50,000 students in Boston's Public School system alone, an incredible number of start-ups, many large, mature corporate employers, and the city's robust non-profit and impact sector.
Boston is the ideal place to bring together like-minds seeking to challenge traditional teaching methods and create more participatory, learner-centered experiences for students of all ages.
The registration deadline is Friday, December 8, 2023.
The early bird discount of $100 off will expire Friday, November 10.

The course is $850 for education and non-profit participants, $1150 for B Corp participants, and $1350 for for-profit participants. Put 850 or 1150 as the coupon code on check out if you fall into either of the two categories.
(or 750, 1050, 1250 if you sign up by November 3)

To lower barriers to participating in this course, we are offering a limited number of partial and full scholarships as we relaunch after a COVID-induced hiatus. Please reach out to your facilitator at Drew@emzingo.com with "Kaospilot-Bentley" in the subject line

Why should I join other pilots of chaos at this session?

Even a global pandemic couldn't fundamentally change the way learning happens in most settings. Many classrooms, training sessions, and programs look the same as before the pandemic (which is basically the same as 50 years ago). You can be, and maybe already are, a changemaker. Together we can build more people positive, participatory, valuable and straight up fun learning experiences.

During the 3 days, you can expect:

  • CONNECTION with (a) your purpose as an educator and (b) likeminded rebels who are pushing the edges of what is possible in education
  • COLLABORATION through experiential, team-based learning that you can bring to your own learning design
  • CREATIVITY to challenge or work around perceived and real constraints in today's education landscape
  • CONTENT that you'll experience and practice, including listening, facilitation, learning design, and tools for learner-engagement

Your Facilitator

Drew Bonfiglio is co-founder of Emzingo, co-founder and ex-chair of B Local Boston, adjunct professor at Boston College, and Kaospilot facilitator. He brings 13 years of facilitation, training, and learning design and a passion for experiential learning and "business as a force for good."

What else do I need to do and know before signing up?

  • Please confirm that you can fully participate all 3 days for the entire day. This is not the type of experience you can pop in and out of like a conference. We prefer that you express interest in a future session rather than sign up and not be able to fully participate
  • Light breakfast and lunch will be provided on all 3 days
  • There will be about 30 minutes of pre-work and a request to bring a few small physical things with you
  • This is an intimate setting. The course will have between 12-24 participants. Expect to make friends.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY.

Kaospilot allowed me to step out of my comfort zone and experience a new way of learning.
This course transformed my understanding of what is possible in my course design and what I can achieve as an educator-designer. It was also much more fun than I expected!!
Amazing, fun, and transformative experience with a purpose!
